CustomCaliPacks is a small studio that designs packaging for cannabis brands and runs the production end of it too. We started this because the gap between a beautiful brand mockup and a printed pouch on a dispensary shelf is where most cannabis packaging falls apart. We close that gap.
how we work
FOUR PRINCIPLES.
Design, then make.
Most cannabis packaging shops are commodity printers with a menu. Most agencies hand you files and disappear. We do both, on purpose, because the thing on the shelf and the thing in the brief should be the same thing.
No middlemen.
We work directly with the factory. No US distributor reselling at 3x. No "we'll get back to you on the foil registration." The designer and the press operator are talking to each other.
Transparency about manufacturing.
Our packaging is manufactured by our long-term partner factory in China — the same one we've been working with for years. We vet every print run. We ship DDP. We're on the hook if anything's wrong.
California-aware compliance.
We design around BCC labeling rules so your artwork doesn't fail an audit on the warehouse floor. Final compliance is your responsibility — but we'll never put a layout in front of you that we know will get flagged.

ABOUT THE FACTORY.
Our manufacturing partner is a privately-held packaging factory in China specializing in flexible packaging, food-grade mylar, and printed paperboard. We've worked with them for years — long enough to be on first-name terms with their press operators and to walk a press check by FaceTime when we need to.
They handle child-resistant testing, BCC-compliant material sourcing, foil stamping, embossing, soft-touch finishing, and die-cut work. We handle the design, the brief translation, the QC sign-off before shipment, and the customer-facing communication.
Every shipment moves DDP — duties and customs paid by us — so the box that lands on your loading dock doesn't come with a surprise bill.
